Stanford holds on to first place

1. Stanford 5-0, 15-1.

Beat Washington State 80-43 with Nneka scoring 22 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Jayne with a great all around game, 14 points, 9 rebounds, 6 blocks, 4 steals and 4 assists (high for the game). Kayla 13 points and 10 rebounds and Ros with 3 threes.

Beat Washington 66-51 behind Nneka’s 20 points and 13 rebounds. Kayla with 14 points, 2 threes, and 5 assists and Jayne with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. 17 turnovers marred the play.

2, USC 4-1, 10-6

Beat UCLA before over 4800 fans 70-63. The Trojans made 24 of 27 free throws to UCLA’s 9 of 20. Ashley Corral scored 24 points and Briana Gilbreath scored 19 points and had 6 assists.

3. Oregon 3-2, 12-5

Lost at ASU 73-68. The Ducks committed 28 fouls and had two players foul, or fowl, out. Lack of inside defense allowed ASU to shot 57% and make 18 more free throws than the Ducks. Jasmin Holiday had 10 rebounds. Micaela Cocks and Nia Jackson both had 15 points. Taylor Lilley made 4 threes and had 14 points.

Lost at Arizona is the highest scoring game in Pac 10 history, 119-112. Nicole Canepa had a career game, maybe double her previous best, with 39 points on 14 of 18 from the floor and added 8 rebounds. Amanda Johnson had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Kristi Fallin came off the bench for 18 points including 4 threes. Surprisingly Cocks and Lilley scored only 23 between them.

Oregon set the Pac 10 record for most points by a losing team. I would have loved to see this game because with 41 FGs by the Ducks, they only had 7 assists.

3. UCLA 3-2, 10-6

Lost at USC 70-63. Erica Tukiainen scored 14 points going 4 of 7 from three. UCLA was 8 of 17 from three but only 9 of 20 from the free throw line. All five starters scored between 8 and 14 points. Markel Walker had 11 rebounds.

5. Washington 3-3, 8-8

Lost at Cal 60-43. The Huskies two big scorers, Sami Whitcomb and Kristi Kingma only scored 8 points between them on only 3 of 12 shooting. Regina Rogers scored 13 points for the Huskies, Sarah Morton had 11 points. The two teams combined to make one three.

Lost to Stanford 66-51. Christina Rozier had 4 threes on her way to 13 points. MacKenzie Agrens scored 11 points.

5. Arizona 3-3, 9-7

Beat Oregon State 62-53. Soana Lucent was 7 of 10 for 18 points and added 7 rebounds. Reiko Thomas scored 12 points and had 4 assists, and Davellyn Whyte scored 14 points. A nice crowd in Tucson of over 1700.

Beat Oregon and set the Pac 10 record for most points, 119. Won 119-112. Davellyn Whyte set a Arizona school record by scoring 39 points, including 5 of 6 from three. Arizona shot an incredible 63%, if those going to Oregon to watch Stanford this week are wondering about the Oregon defense. Ify Ibewke scored 32 points and had 14 rebounds and 7 assists (one less than the Oregon team). Soana Lucent scored 28 points.

5. ASU 3-3, 11-6

Beat Oregon 73-68. The Sun Devils were 23 of 39 from the line, Oregon 5 of 10. But it was Oregon unable to stop the Sun Devil post players as the ASU posts were 16 of 22 from the line. Danille Orsillo scored 17 points while posts Kayli Murphy and Becca Tobin scored 11 and 12 respectively. The two teams combined for 27 steals, leading to 52 turnovers.

Beat Oregon State 56-47. Danille Orsillo scored 20 points and Alex Earl came off the bench to hit 3 threes and score 11 points.

8. Cal 2-3, 8-8

Beat Washington 60-43 in a game where Cal caused or helped the Huskies commit 30!! Turnovers. Eliza Pierre had 6 of Cal’s 11 steals. Alexis Gray-Lawson scored 19 points to lead Cal, NeDesha Stallworth scored 13. In the very sloppy game Cal had only 8 assists on 23 baskets and missed 13 Free Throws. Attendance at Cal was only 761.

Beat Washington State 74-68. Good attendance of 1900 fans. Alexis Gray-Lawson had the big game people were waiting for with 29 points and 6 rebounds. Gennifer Brandon scored 12 points and had 7 rebounds. Pierre had 5 assists and 4 steals. The Bears shot 46% and out rebounded the Cougars by 18.

9. Oregon State 1-4, 9-6

Lost at Arizona 62-53. Talisa Rhea who had 7 threes last week in a game was 0 for 6 from three and 6 for 18 total for 13 points. The beavers didn’t make a three in the game. Haiden Palmer scored 15 points and El Sara Greer pulled down 14 rebounds including 10 offensive boards.

Lost at ASU 56-47. The Beavers didn’t make a single three, although Talisa Rhea did score 20 points. The Beavers were plagued by 21 turnovers.

10. Washington State 0-6 5-12

Lost to Stanford 80-43. Kiki Moore was the only Cougar in double figures, 14 points, but took 18 shots to get there. The Cougars shot only 25% and from three shot only 14%, 4 for 28.

Lost to Cal 74-68. Kiki Moore had 13 points and 8 assists. April Cook scored 16 and the Cougars shot a fine 46% for the game.
