This Week’s Results for the PAC 12 TEAMS

1. Stanford (11-1): Lost to UConn 61-35. Chiney with 18 points and 13 rebounds and we held UConn to 37% shooting. Of course we shot 19%. But we move on, rapidly. 

2. Cal (10-1): Beat George Washington 70-43. Talia Caldwell had 19 points and 8 rebounds. Three Cal players had 11 or 12 points.

3. UCLA (8-2): beat Pepperdine 77-46. Nirra Fields had her best game scoring 19 points and adding 12 rebounds. Atonye Nyingifa added 12 rebounds as UCLA out rebounded the Waves by 23. Alyssia Brewer player just 3 minutes with an ankle injury.

4. Colorado (11-0): beat New Mexico 84-39. Lexy Kresl was 5 of 5 from three for 20 points. Chucky Jeffery had 8 assists.

5. Utah (9-2): Lost to North Dakota State 62-56. Iwalani Rodriques was 11 of 16 from the floor for 23 points and also had 8 rebounds. Michelle Plouffe had 11 points and 12 rebounds. The Utes were 1 of 19 from three, causing the loss.

6: Washington (8-3): Beat USC Davis 81-56. Jazmine Davis with 25 points on 6 of 9 from three. Talia Walton had 15 points and 12 rebounds. Aminah Williams had 12 points and 13 rebounds.

7. Oregon State(6-6): I didn’t realize that the Beavers lost their Point Guard Sage Indendi for the season. She didn’t play to start with an ankle injury then in late November had surgery.

11. USC (3-8): Lost to Vanderbilt 74-56 for their 6th loss in a row. Cassie Harberts had 22 points for the Trojans who played a top team before 635 fans.

This Week’s Results for the PAC 12 TEAMS

1. Stanford (11-0): Beat South Carolina in a very close game 53-49 on 4 late free throws by Toni Kokenis. Chiney with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks, Jos Tinkle with 7 blocks. Here’s a Stanford stat you haven’t seen in years, 4 assists and 18 turnovers.

Defeated Tenn 73-60. This was our 2nd win ever at Tenn. Chiney with 21 points and 19 rebounds. Stanford showed their skill and quickness with 6 steals and only 9 turnovers. Bonnie Samuelson hit all 3 of her threes for 11 points. Five Stanford players scored in double figures.

2. Cal (9-1): beat Northwestern 71-65. The 3 Wings for Cal were 8 of 35. However Layshia Clarendon scored 9 points in less than the last minute, mostly on 7 of 8 free throws for the win. Brittany Boyd scored 18 and Talia Caldwell had 16 points.

Beat Kansas ranked # 19, 88-79. Clarendon with 28 points and Gennifer Brandon with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

3. UCLA (8-2): LOST to Cal State Northridge 77-72. At Home. 25 UCLA turnovers, Northridge shot 44% and was 10 of 22 from three. Alyssia Brewer had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Markel Walker 12 points and 12 rebounds and 9 turnovers but 7 steals.

6: Washington (7-3): Lost to Georgia Tech 52-44 missing of their 9 players with the Flu. The 9th, Heather Corral made her season and Collge debut after missing time with an injury. Jazmine Davis scored 21.

7. Oregon State(6-6): Lost to Michigan State 49-35. The Beavers shot 24% and missed all 15 of their 3 point attempts.

9. Washington State (3-7): Lost to Louisville 75-39. The Cougar starters made 3 shots.

10. Arizona, (9-3): Beat Longwood 86-68. Davelynn Whyte scored 25 with 5 threes and Kama Griffitts scored 21 with 4 threes. The Wildcats hit 10 of 19 threes.

11. USC (3-7): LOST to UC Davis 78-69. Ariya Crook scored 18 and was 5 of 11 from three. UC Davis was 14 of 26 from three and shot 50% overall for the game.

Lost to Duke 75-60. Jordan Adams their top 5 recruit missed her second game in a row, no mention why although Mr Cooper was suspended for a game using an ineligible player. Kate Oliver, a transfer from Marist, had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

This Week’s Results for the PAC 12 TEAMS

Two huge upsets this week by Pac 12 teams. Washington State beat # 20 Ohio State and Colorado beat # 8 Louisville. Colorado and Stanford remain the two unbeaten teams.

1. Stanford (9-0): Continues as the Number 1 team in the country and beat UOP 78-43. Chiney had 31 points, a career high and 13 rebounds. Mikaela Ruef also had 13 rebounds and added 5 assists.

2. Cal (7-1):

3. UCLA (8-1): Beat St Mary’s in a tournament in NYC 76-62 using a late 12-0 run to break open a tight game. Markel Walker with 15 points and 12 rebounds and Alyissa Brewer with 12 points and 10 rebounds. 5 Bruins scored in double figures.

Beat St Johns in OT 53-52 as Jasmine Dixon scored on a layup with a second left. Brewer had 14 points and 15 rebounds.

4. Colorado (9-0): Beat Denver 83-63. Brittany Wilson had 19 points, 3 of 6 from three. Chucky Jeffery scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds and 5 assists.

Beat # 8 Louisville 70-66 despite 25 turnovers due to Louisville’s press. At that only 7 more turnovers than Louisville and Colorado had the rebound edge by 12. Jeffery scored 22 points.

5. Utah (8-1): Beat Houston Baptist 71-33. Michelle Plouffe and Taryn Wicijowski each scored 16 points.

6: Washington (7-2): Lost to UCSB in a bad loss 54-46. The Huskies were down 25-8 near the end of the first half. Finals must have really hit them. Jazmine Davis scored 20 but was 6 of 20 from the floor. Here’s a stat, the Huskies made 7 threes. One more than from 2. Washington shot 21% for the game but only 16% from two.

Beat Idaho 62-48 Davis scored 19 but again the Huskies shot poorly at 28%.

7. Oregon State (6-4): Beat Cal State Fullerton 54-46. Super Frosh Jamie Weisner had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jamie was 5 of 9 from the floor, 2 of 3 from three.

Lost to Loyola Marymount 73-6, a bad loss for the Pac 12. Ali Gibson scored 21 points but had 7 turnovers. The Beavers were outscored by 11 at the free throw line as they committed 26 fouls and had 30, THIRTY turnovers.

9. Washington State (3-5): Beat # 20 Ohio State in a huge win 62-55. Coach June Daughtery is an Ohio State grad. Lia Gladeira scored 16. Ohio State had 5 assists and 21 turnovers. Congrats to the Cougs.

10. USC (3-5): Lost to Texas A&M 79-61. USC shot 30% and had 23 turnovers. Harberts scored 19.

12: Oregon (1-8): Lost to Oregon 80-62. Jillian Alleyne continues her great play with 24 points and 16 rebounds. The unheralded Frosh was 11 of 15 from the floor.

Beat Fresno State, a good win and Oregon’s first, 66-65. The Ducks shot 44% their season best. Alleyne scored 23 while Megan Carpenter had 12 points and 13 rebounds.

1. Stanford (8-0): Idle with Dead Week and now Finals

2. Cal (7-1): Beat Cal State Bakersfield 84-46. 19 points each by Brittany Boyd and Gennifer Brandon. Ranked # 11 should stay about there.

3. UCLA (6-1): Beat Texas in Houston 62-42. Alyissa Brewer scored 12 points and had 11 rebounds. UCLA had 23 steals and caused 29 Texas turnovers. Texas was ranked 12 and UCLA 19. Clearly Texas was way over ranked but still should move UCLA up.

4. Utah (7-1): Lost to BYU 53-48 for their first loss of the season. Taryn Wicijowski scored 16 and had 15 rebounds. Michelle Plouffe scored 16 and everyone else combined for just 16 points. Utah shot just 25%. A note, Crystal Fortham is no longer on the team. She had transferred from LSU. She had been at 6 schools in the last 6 years, HS and College.

5. Colorado (7-0): Beat Colorado State 72-46. 11 players played 11 to 23 minutes so scoring was balance. Jen Reese scored 11 points and had 8 rebounds in 17 minutes and Jamee Swan scored 11 points and had 6 rebounds in 16 minutes.

6: Washington (6-1): Beat San Diego State 59-58. Talia Walton hit a three pointer with 10 seconds left to win the game. Walton finished with 17 points. The Huskies came back after being down 19. Aminah Williams had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Williams, a soph, has really improved for the Huskies. San Diego State had beaten USC by 34 recently.

7. Oregon State (5-3): Beat St Martin’s 84-46. Jamie Weisner was 5 of 7 from the floor, 3 of 4 from three, 14 points in 19 minutes. Five Beavers scored in double figures.

8. USC (3-4): Lost to Fresno State 65-60. USC had 22 turnovers, 11 to Fresno steals. USC shot 32 %. Cassie Harberts had 14 points and 11 rebounds, Ariya Crook had 17 points. Top 5 recruit Jordan Adams had no points and no assists in 28 minutes.

Beat Boston College 68-59. Pickens was 4 of 5 from three tin this game for 14 points. ASU shot 52% and they were 8 of 17 from three.

12: Oregon (0-7): Lost to Nevada 77-73. Jillian Alleyne had 19 points and 18 rebounds. She leads the nation in rebounding at 14.8 per game. Danielle Love scored 21. The Ducks had 28 turnovers.

Laura Stanulis and Lexi Petersen have been ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury. They were two of UO’s top five scorers prior to getting hurt. Stanulis led the team in assists (33).

Injuries have also sidelined key returners Ariel Thomas and Deanna Weaver, as well as redshirt freshman Janitah Iamaleava who has yet to play a game in a UO uniform. Note, Thomas played her first game on Sunday.

This Week’s Results for the PAC 12 TEAMS

1. Stanford (8-0): Beat UC Davis 87-38. Chiney had 27 points and 13 rebounds. Toni Kokenis 3 of 3 from three and the bench 6 of 12 from three. Jos Tinkle with 7 blocks.

Beat Gonzaga at Gonzaga before 6,000 fans 69-41 holding the Zags to a 25% from the floor. Chiney had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Jos Tinkle 16 points and Taylor Greenfield 18 points on 6 of 8 from three.

2. Cal (5-1): Beat Old Dominion 63-47. Gennifer Brandon had 17 rebounds, but also 7 turnovers. Cal had 25 turnovers but doubled Old Dominion in rebounding with a great 33 edge. Talia Caldwell had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Lost at Duke 77-63. Brittany Boyd scored 28 and had 7 steals, but also just 3 assists and 7 turnovers. Cal could shot only 35% and players other than Boyd made only 12 shots at 27%.

3. UCLA (5-1): Beat Loyola Marymount 86-66. Markel Walker had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Alyssia Brewer had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Bruins were in double figures.

4. Utah (7-0): Beat Utah State 92-64. Michelle Plouffe scored 19 and Taryn Wicijowski scored 20 points. Paige Crozon hit all 3 of her threes for 13 points. Utah had 27 assists and shot 63%.

Beat Hawaii 62-61 Wicijowski scored 26 for the Utes.

5. Colorado (5-0): Beat Wyoming 68-59. Chucky Jeffery had 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Beat Illinois 69-62. Arielle Roberson scored 25 points in a sloppy game where both teams had 27 turnovers.

6: Washington (5-1): Beat Pepperdine 70-51. Aminah Williams, a player to watch, had 17 points and 15 rebounds. Kristi Kingma and Jazmine Davis each scored 17. The Huskies out rebounded Pepperdine by 19 but shot only 34%.

Beat Portland 64-44. Davis scored 28 and Williams had 17 rebounds.

7. Oregon State (4-3): Beat Cal State Bakersfield 71-48. Frosh Jamie Weisner scored 17 points.

Lost to Sacramento State at home 80-71. A disappointing start for the Beavers. Weisner scored 19 points. Parrish of Sac State scored 39, 9 of 13 from three. She was averaging 13 and scored just 4 a game last year.

8. USC (3-3): Beat UCSB 62-51. Cassie Harberts scored 17 and USC was 9 of 16 from three. Jordan Adams was 4 of 5 from three for 12 points.

Lost to San Diego State 80-46. Worse loss by the Pac 12 this season. Harberts scored 15. USC was out rebounded by 19 and had 5 more turnovers, while shooting just 32%. This team seems lost.

9. ASU ( 3-4): Lost to # 23 Dayton 66-59. ASU lead by 9 with 8 minutes left but couldn’t hold on. Six Sun Devils had between 8 and 11 points.
