Pac 12 : Results of the Week

Too soon to change the rankings, I’ll wait until after Thanksgiving. An early cut off as Disneyland beckons.

1. Stanford: 4-1
Beat Texas at Texas 63-54. Chiney fouled out with 4 to go but had 18 points. We shot 32% but Texas 26%. Ruef 11 points and 10 rebounds.

2. Cal: 2- 2

3. USC: 3-1
Lost badly to # 20 Oklahoma State 80-51. USC was outrebounded by 10 had 6 more turnovers and shot 33% to Oklahoma State’s 52%.

4. Colorado 4-0
Beat Iowa 90-87. 26 points for Brittany Wilson and 17 points for Arielle Roberson. A nice win. 26 points for Iowa’s Samantha Logic who you may remember as a one time possible Stanford recruit.
Beat New Mexico 85-43. Colorado shot 56% and 6 players had 9 or more points. Jen Reese led the way with 18 points.

5. Washington: 1-2
Beat Seattle 82-60. Kelsey Plum scored 22 and Jasmine Davis added 18 points. Washington shot 49%. Former Gunn star Kat Perez was scoreless.

7. Oregon State: 4-0
Beat Loyola Marymount 92-54 by making 17 of 32 from three. Both Jamie Weisner and Sydney Weise were 5 of 7 from three.

8. Washington State: 3-3
Beat Fresno State 92-79. Tia Presley scored 37 points and Lia Gladeira had 20 points. Presley was 15 of 24 from the floor including 5 of 7 from three.

9. Utah: 1-2
Lost to Utah State 77-61 as Utah State’s Jennifer Schlott scored 37 points. Michelle Plouffe had 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Utes.

10. Arizona State: 3-1
Beat Providence 86-65. Five players in double figures for ASU.

Lost to Stephan F Austin 60-56 at Tucson.

Lost to UConn 114-68. UConn shot 64% and had 22 more rebounds. Also on two’s UConn shot 78%. Frosh Christae Rowe may be the real deal for Oregon as she had 27 points. She did take 27 shots.

Beat Cal Poly 86-51, Chiney with a career high 36 points and added 11 rebounds. Michaela Ruef with 9 points , 14 rebounds and 7 assists.

Beat UC Davis 66-48. Chiney with 28 points and 15 rebounds. Karlie Samuelson had 8 points and 6 assists.

2. Cal: 2- 2
Lost to George Washington 75-72. Brittany Boyd with 17 points and Rashanda Gray added 24 points. Courtney Range with 14 rebounds.
Beat Georgetown 67-52. Five Cal players with 9-15 points. Boyd only 3 of 14 as the Bears shot just 36% and were out rebounded by 10. Gennifer Brandon missed both games for Cal.

Lost to Portland 91-77. What a poor start for the Huskies, very disappointing. Talia Walton scored 20 and Kelsey Plum 22 but Portland was 15 of 24 WOW! From three.

6. UCLA: 1-2
Lost to North Carolina 78-68 but what a game for the very depleted Bruins. Two are out for the season, two should play this year but missed this game so up to 7 scholie players for the game yesterday. And one of those first game in a year. Atonye Nyingifa with 18 points and 11 rebounds, Nirra Fields 12 points and 10 rebounds and playing her first game in one year Lauren Holliday with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Thea Lemberger led the Bruins with 19 points. UCLA shoot only 30% and there were 56 fouls in the game.

Beat Sacramento State 102-80. Ruth Hamblin had 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Lost to Hawaii 77-66. Lia Gladeira had 29 points and 9 rebounds.

Lost to West Virginia 88-66. Tia Presley had 16 points. West Virginia shot 56%.
Beat Ole Miss 79-65. Presley had 29 points.

Lost to Nebraska, # 15 in the country, 76-59. Michelle Plouffe had 27 points and 12 rebounds.

10. Arizona State: 2-1
Lost to University of San Diego 61-53. Not a good game for the Sun Devils who had only 4 assists for the entire game and shot just 33 %.
Beat Texas Tech 85-77. Big win for the Sun Devils. 11 players scored for ASU Adrianne Thomas had 18, 14 of 14 from the free throw line. Deja Mann had 17 points.

Beat UCSB 51-49. Candice Wartham had 18 points.

Lost to Sacramento State 97-85 as both teams combined set an NCAA record for threes attempted with 86!. Yet they only made 18. Christae Rowe had 28 points for the Ducks.

Pac 12 : The Season begins

1. Stanford: 1-1
Beat Boston College 83-71. Chiney with 30 points and 14 rebounds. Amber Orrange with 19 points , 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Bonnie Samuelson with 15 points, and Micheala Ruef with 10 rebounds. Stanford shot 56%

Lost at UConn 76-57. Chiney with 16 points and 13 rebounds and Amber Orrange was outstanding with 22 points.

Nov 15 Cal Poly, Nov 17 UC Davis, Nov 23 at Texas, Nov 26 Purdue in Mexico, Nov 27 Florida Gulf Coast in Mexico, Nov 28 South Dakota State in Mexico.



2. Cal: 1-1 Beat Long Beach State 70-51. Frosh Courtney Range had 9 points and 14 rebounds in her first game. Cal shot just 36%, 3 of 23 from three. Only a bit over 1,000 fans but for Duke on Sunday they expect over 10,000.

Lost to Duke 70-58 but 10,771 fans at Cal. Afure Jemerigbe scored 16 and Courtney Range had 10 rebounds for the Bears,

3. USC: 2-0 Beat UC Davis in Davis 64-55. Ariya Crook led the way with 24 points, 4 of 7 from three. USC shot 41% with Cassie Harberts 0 for 8.

Beat Fresno State 63-57. Harberts had 13 points and 12 rebounds while Crook scored 14 for the Trojans.

5. Washington: 0-1 Lost to St Mary’s as Jackie Nared of St Mary’s went off for 37. St Mary’s shot 52%. Washington was missing 2 players and Collier played only 18 minutes. Both Kelsey Plum and Jasmine Davis scored 23 for the Huskies. But Washington was killed by their poor defense.

6. UCLA: 1-1 Lost to Nebraska 77-49. UCLA had 6 healthy players and one fouled out. It’s going to be a very long season unless the three who they expect to play at some point, do play. Thea Lemberger scored 17 points.

Beat Pepperdine 82-78. Seven played and 2 fouled out for the Bruins. Lemberger scored 25, Nirra Fields scored 20 and had 10 rebounds and Atonye Nyingifa scored 24 points for the Bruins.

11. Arizona: 0-2 Lost to Iona in OT 82-75. Candice Warthen returned from a season lost to an injury to score 22 points. Frosh LaBrittany Jones had 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Lost to Michigan 73-71, two heart breakers in a row. Warthen scored 21 points and Kama Griffins was 5 of 10 from three and scored 18 points.

12. Oregon 2-0
Beat CS Bakersfield 131-91. The Ducks made 20 of 42 threes, although only 23 of 59 twos. Transfer Katelyn Loper was NINE of 15 from three and scored 29, Jillian Alleyne scored 24 and had 16 rebounds and Christae Rowe scored 27, 4 of 6 from three.
Beat Portland 113-86. Loper had 23 points, Rowe 22 and Alleyne had 25 points and 13 rebounds.

12. Oregon: Beat Western Oregon 103-58. Frosh Christae Rowe and transfer Katelyn Loper each scored 17 points. Beat Oregon Tech 106-51 with Rowe scoring 35 with 15 rebounds from her guard position. Loper added 26 as she was 8 of 14 from three. Jillian Alleyne added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
