Pac 12 : The Season begins

1. Stanford: 1-1
Beat Boston College 83-71. Chiney with 30 points and 14 rebounds. Amber Orrange with 19 points , 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Bonnie Samuelson with 15 points, and Micheala Ruef with 10 rebounds. Stanford shot 56%

Lost at UConn 76-57. Chiney with 16 points and 13 rebounds and Amber Orrange was outstanding with 22 points.

Nov 15 Cal Poly, Nov 17 UC Davis, Nov 23 at Texas, Nov 26 Purdue in Mexico, Nov 27 Florida Gulf Coast in Mexico, Nov 28 South Dakota State in Mexico.



2. Cal: 1-1 Beat Long Beach State 70-51. Frosh Courtney Range had 9 points and 14 rebounds in her first game. Cal shot just 36%, 3 of 23 from three. Only a bit over 1,000 fans but for Duke on Sunday they expect over 10,000.

Lost to Duke 70-58 but 10,771 fans at Cal. Afure Jemerigbe scored 16 and Courtney Range had 10 rebounds for the Bears,

3. USC: 2-0 Beat UC Davis in Davis 64-55. Ariya Crook led the way with 24 points, 4 of 7 from three. USC shot 41% with Cassie Harberts 0 for 8.

Beat Fresno State 63-57. Harberts had 13 points and 12 rebounds while Crook scored 14 for the Trojans.

4. Colorado 1-0
Beat Colorado State 63-59.

Nov 15 Alcorn State, Nov 20 Iowa, Nov 23 at New Mexico, Nov 29 South Alabama, Nov 30 Rice or Samford.



5. Washington: 0-1 Lost to St Mary’s as Jackie Nared of St Mary’s went off for 37. St Mary’s shot 52%. Washington was missing 2 players and Collier played only 18 minutes. Both Kelsey Plum and Jasmine Davis scored 23 for the Huskies. But Washington was killed by their poor defense.

6. UCLA: 1-1 Lost to Nebraska 77-49. UCLA had 6 healthy players and one fouled out. It’s going to be a very long season unless the three who they expect to play at some point, do play. Thea Lemberger scored 17 points.

Beat Pepperdine 82-78. Seven played and 2 fouled out for the Bruins. Lemberger scored 25, Nirra Fields scored 20 and had 10 rebounds and Atonye Nyingifa scored 24 points for the Bruins.

7. Oregon State: 2-0 Beat Corban 94-49. Frosh Sydney Weise scored 20 points.

Beat CS Bakersfield 80-49. Devon Hunter scored 13 points and had 13 rebounds. 10 players scored 5 or more points.

Nov 15 Sac State, Nov 21 Loyola Marymount, Nov 29 Penn State in the Bahamas, Nov 30 Florida or Illinois State in the Bahamas.



8. Washington State: 1-1
Lost to Syracuse 69-65. Tia Presley scored 20 points and Shalie Dheenshaw had 13 rebounds for the Cougars.

Beat Seattle 81-72. Presley with 16 and Lia Galdeira with 19 points.

9. Utah: 1-0
Beat Denver 73-56. Frosh Emily Potter scored 16 points and Michelle Plouffe scored 15 with 9 rebounds. Five Utah players scored 10 or more points.

10. Arizona State: 1-0
Beat Hawaii 84-44. Deja Mann returned from a lost season to injury to lead the Sun Devils with 14 points. Transfer Katie Hempen scored 12.

11. Arizona: 0-2 Lost to Iona in OT 82-75. Candice Warthen returned from a season lost to an injury to score 22 points. Frosh LaBrittany Jones had 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Lost to Michigan 73-71, two heart breakers in a row. Warthen scored 21 points and Kama Griffins was 5 of 10 from three and scored 18 points.

Nov 16 at UCSB, Nov 20 Stephen F Austin, Nov 23 at UOP, Nov 26 Wake Forest, Nov 30 at BYU.




12. Oregon 2-0
Beat CS Bakersfield 131-91. The Ducks made 20 of 42 threes, although only 23 of 59 twos. Transfer Katelyn Loper was NINE of 15 from three and scored 29, Jillian Alleyne scored 24 and had 16 rebounds and Christae Rowe scored 27, 4 of 6 from three.
Beat Portland 113-86. Loper had 23 points, Rowe 22 and Alleyne had 25 points and 13 rebounds.
