Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Maples vs Cal

1. Cal, 20-2, 11-0: Beat Washington 70-40 led by Ashley Walker’s 24 points and 9 rebounds. Devanei Hampton added 15 points and 9 rebounds, however she had 6 turnovers. Alexis Gray-Lawson scored 14 points.

Beat Washington State 77-57. Ashley Walker with a double, double, 18 points and 11 rebounds. Walker also had 7 assists, although 5 turnovers. Devanei Hampton scored 15 points, as the Bears shot 53%.

2. Stanford 19-4, 10-1: Beat Washington State 76-46 behind Jayne Appel’s 25 points and 9 rebounds. Jillian Harmon scored 13 points and had 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Sarah Boothe also had 13 points, but 5 turnovers.

Beat Washington 76-54. Kayla Pederson with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Jane Appel with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Ros with 6 assists, and Jeanette Pohlen with 19 points with 4 of 7 from three. A downer, 21 turnovers.

3. Arizona State, 17-6, 9-2: Beat Oregon 68-55. Briann January scored 14 points to lead 5 players with 9-14. Becca Tobin scored 11 points and had 6 rebounds. Dymond Simon had 5 assists against a single turnover.

Beat Oregon State 65-54. It was ASU’s 9th straight win, one shy of the school record and played before 3,413 Sun Devil fans. 19 points Dymond Simon and 15 for Briann January. Sybil Dosty had 10 rebounds. On the down side the Wildcats had 24 turnovers, on the plus side, forward Kayli Murphy’s brother signed a Letter of Intent to play Football at Stanford.

4. USC, 12-9, 6-4: Beat UCLA 87-76 before 8,700 on a promotion day at the Galen Center. Camille LeNoir moved into 5th place all time in assists for USC, notable because she passed Cheryl Miller. Ironically Camille had 3 assists and 5 turnovers in this game. However she was one of 3 Trojans with 18/19 points as she scored 19 points including 3 three’s. Heather Oliver also scored 19 points and had 6 steals. Nadia Parker scored 18 points.

5. UCLA, 14-7, 5-5: Lost to USC 87-76. Doreena Campbell led the Bruins with 20 points. Monquiee Alexander scored 8 points and had a game high 13 rebounds. Erica Tukiainen had 14 points and 4 steals. This loss really hurts UCLA’s NCAA chances.

6. Oregon, 8-14, 4-7: Lost to ASU 68-56. Michaela Cocks scored 16 points, the only Duck in double figures. Nicole Canepa returned to action after being out a month and scored 8 points. The Ducks committed 26 turnovers.

Lost to Arizona 68-44. 7 assists and 24 turnovers summed up the Ducks game. Jasmin Holliday led the Ducks with Michaela Cocks had 12 points and Ellie Manou had 9 rebounds.

6. Oregon State, 13-8, 4-7: Beat Arizona in Tucson 63-55. Brittany Davis was 5 for 7 from three and totaled 20 points. The Beavers were 8 for 16 from three. Alex Mitchell had 15 points and 12 rebounds. Cedes Fox-Griffin had 6 assists.

Lost to ASU 65-54. Brittany Davis was once again high with 17 points. The Beavers had 21 turnovers, but that was 3 less than ASU. The Beavers had only 5 assists for the game.

8. Washington State, 9-13, 2-9: Lost to Stanford 76-56. April Cook had 11 points and Katie Appleton 10 as the Cougars shot only 25%. Cook had no assists and 5 turnovers. Elbonee Coates had 9 rebounds.

Lost to Cal 77-57. April Cook was the only player in double figures, but with an outstanding 22 points. Heather Molzen had 9 points and 8 rebounds for the Cougars who shot only 34%.

8. Arizona, 9-13, 2-9: Lost to Oregon State 63-55. Ify Ibewke with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Courtney Clements with 15 points on 3 of 4 from three. Guards Reiko Thomas scored 12 points and Ashley Frazier had 7 assists. The Wildcats made 5 for 9 from three.


Beat Oregon 68-44. Ibewke scored 12 points and had 7 rebounds but left late in the game with a sprained ankle. It didn’t look good. Clements scored 10 points. Frazier had 8 assists and only 1 turnover. Amina Njonkou scored 16 points and had 9 rebounds coming off the bench. 5 Wildcats scored in double figures and they also had 13 assists against only 11 turnovers.

10. Washington, 5-16, 1-10: Lost to Cal 70-50. Christina Rozier led with 12 points and Liz Lay scored 10 points. The Huskies only had 4 assists, on 15 baskets, and shot 27%. Also they were out rebounded by 20.

Lost to Stanford 76-54. The Huskies have now lost a school record 10 in a row. A big loud crowd of over 4,800 attended the game. Sami Whitcomb was the only Husky with more than 6 points as she scored 16, despite being only 3 for 15 from the floor. Washington shot just 31%.
