Week 4 in the Pac 10

1. Cal, 14-2, 5-0:

Beat Stanford 59-56 at Cal before over 10,000 fans. Lexi Gray-Lawson is easily Player of the Week scoring a career high 37 points. Lexi made 5 of 7 three’s. No one else on the team scored more than 6 points. In fact the rest of the team was 7 for 27 from the floor. Amazing performance to watch.

2. Stanford 13-4, 4-1: Lost to Cal 57-54 at Haas. Jayne Appel scored 18 points and had 8 rebounds. Kayla Pederson scored 14 points and also had 8 rebounds.

3. Arizona State, 12-6, 4-2: Beat UCLA 68-44 in a Thursday Day game with over 7,300 fans, many school kids. Dymond Simon had 14 points and Kristen Thompson 12 points to lead the Sun Devils. Between the two, they made 16 of 18 free throws. ASU held UCLA to 37% from the floor without a single three.

Beat USC 83-71. Dymond Simon scored 22 points and Danielle Orsillo scored 19 points, and both had 3 three’s. Lauren Lacey scored 7 points and added 10 rebounds. Briann January had 6 assists. The Wildcat win was in front over just over 3,000 home fans.

3. Oregon, 7-9, 4-2: Beat Washington in Seattle 75-55. Taylor Lilly was hot with 3 three’s and 24 points. Michaela Cocks was also hot with 3 three’s and 19 points. Lilly also had 4 steals and 7 assists. Nicole Canepa missed her 5th straight game with a sprained ankle.

Beat Washington State 57-41, sweeping the State of Washington for the first time in 9 years. Taylor Lilly scored 20 points to lead the Ducks. Amanda Johnson was the top rebounder with 9.

5. UCLA, 12-4, 3-2: Lost at ASU 68-44. Lots of fouls and turnovers plagued the Bruins. Doreena Campbell had 13 points to lead the scoring.

Beat Arizona 48-38 with great defense. Held Arizona to their fewest points and lowest FG % in ever in Pac 10 play. Dorenna Campbell had 17 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals to lead the Trojans.

5. USC, 10-6, 3-2: Beat Arizona in Overtime 77-71. Ashley Corral scored 16 points, half of them in OT, to lead USC. Brianna Gilbreath scored 15 points and added 10 rebounds, while Camille LeNoir scored 14 points. LeNoir also had 4 steals and Gilbreath had 3.

Lost to Arizona State 83-71. Camille LeNoir scored 22 points. Briana Gilbreath had 8 points and 9 rebounds. Kari LaPlante had 12 points and 7 rebounds. Ashley Coral and Nadia Parker combined for only 8 points.

7. Oregon State, 11-5, 2-4: Lost to Washington State 65-52. Talisa Rhea scored 19 points and had 8 rebounds. The Beavers were plagued by poor shooting, 31%, and turnovers, 24, 9 more than WSU.

Beat Washington 69-55, and were up by 26 points at one point. Brittany Davis scored 25 points on 5 of 7 from three. Talisa Rhea had 15 points.

8. Washington, 5-10, 1-4: Lost to Oregon 75-55, although a nice crowd of 2,500 continues to support the Huskies. Laura McCellan scored 15 points and had 4 blocked shots. PG Kristi Kingma is still out but Sara Mosiman returned.

Lost to Oregon State 69-55. Nice crowd of 2,700. Sami Whitcomb led the way with 17 points. Kristi Kingma played a bit, returning from an injury. Laura McLennan and Liz Lay had technicals called on them.

8. Washington State, 8-8, 1-4: Beat Oregon State 65-52. Ebonee Coates tied her own school record with 6 blocked shots. Katie Appleton hit 2 three’s and scored 14 points. Appleton needs only 3 three’s to tie the school record for career three’s. Jazmine Perkins lead the scoring with 21 points, including 3 three’s. April Cook had 13 points and 7 assists.

Lost to Oregon 57-41. April Cook scored 12 for the Cougars who shot 29% for the game and 12% from three. Appleton did not hit a three.

10. Arizona, 7-10, 0-6: Lost in Overtime to USC 77-71. Ify Ibekwe led the Wildcats as usual with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Amina Njonkou scored 9 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Reiko Thomas scored 16 points but missed the OT with a sprained ankle.

Lost to USC 48-38. The Wildcats made only 2 shots from the floor the 2nd half and ended 11 for 47, 23%. And they were 0 for 8 from three. Ify Ibekwe had 14 points and 8 rebounds while Amina Njonkou had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Thomas did not play.
