Preview: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Last Season: 17-16 and 7-11 in league play
February 28, 2025 Update:
Season record is 21-8, 9-8 in conference. Net ranking is 29, Stanford's net is 49. They have beaten the lower ranked ACC teams and lost to all the top ranked teams. Their best game was a 55-50 home loss to #16 Duke which dominated Stanford.
They average 77.1 ppg and hold opponents to 63.5 ppg, compared to Stanford's 73.4 vs 69.1 for opponents. With their quick guards, they have held opponents to only 28.8% on threes so we likely will need to penetrate and score inside. They have 237 steals on the season while Stanford has 182 so taking care of the balls will be important.
Last game was a 79-65 loss at Cal - game highlights are below. GT was led by Dunn with 18, Morgan with 13 and Thompson with 11. Cal had 3 in double figures led by Onyiah with 24, Twiddle with 17 and Krimili with 15.
The very successful head coach Nell Fortner, with national team experience, is in her 6th season.
