  1. I was at Gill Coliseum watching the Beavers hosting the Ducks. Despite the 9 point loss, I am convinced OSU's coach, Scott Rueck, has developed the best strategy to compete for 40 minutes with Oregon; slow them down; make them work on defense with post-centered play, their strong guards driving to the basket; kick-outs to open players for 3-point shots; playing an aggressive zone against the Ducks- strong in the middle, limiting Sabrina and Hebard from doing their pick-and-roll.

OSU has a great young post in Taylor Jones, who can score against Hebard, and two very strong guards (Slocum & Pivec) who can drive, absorb contact and finish- or get fouled.

Oregon State will regroup and come back - smarter, as the conference season goes on.
