A Review of the Past Week

New Rankings:
Per AP Oregon State 11, Stanford 16 and ASU 25.

1. Oregon State 10--0 Record against Top 25, 1-0
Won at # 6 North Carolina 70-55. North Carolina shot just 27% and made only 1 three, great defense by the Beavers. Sydney Weise had 13 points and 8 assists, Ruth Hamlin had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Devon Hunter had 16 rebounds. The downside were 23 Oregon State turnovers.

Beat Southern Illinois in New Orleans 71-55. Weise with 12 points and 6 assists. The Beavers shot 48% and had just 9 turnovers.

Beat Nevada in New Orleans 73-50. But not that close as the bench scored 45 of the 73 points.

2. Stanford 7-4 Record against Top 25, 1-3

Lost at Chattanooga 54-46, for Stanford’s first non conference loss to an unranked team in 14 years. Stanford shot just 27% so despite Chattanooga not making a field goal in the last 11 ½ minutes Stanford still couldn’t pull this out.

Lost at Tennessee 59-40 shooting 25%. Two games in a row scoring in the 40’s.

Beat UC Davis 72-59. Bonnie Samuelson a career high 30 points, 6 of 10 from three. Sister Karlie 9 points 3 of 4 from three. Kaylee Johnson with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

3. ASU 10-1 Record against Top 25, 0-0
Won at Illinois State 89-44. Quinn Dornstauder had 19 points and Elisha Davis had 11 assists.
Beat Leigh 81-61. Dornstauder had 12 points and 7 rebounds in 21 minutes. Katie Hempen had 15 points and Elisha Davis had 9 assists.

Beat Northwestern 88-75 for their first loss. Sophie Brunner had 24 points and 13 rebounds. Elisha Davis had 16 points and 6 assists but 10 turnovers.

Won at San Diego State 69-48, Kelsey Plum with 30 points.

Won at UC Riverside 74-71. Washington trailed by 12 at the half. Plum had 21 points. UC Riverside had 5 players scored in double figures.

Beat Montana State 82-51. Lia Gladiera had 26 points and 5 steals.

Beat Loyola Marymount 87-60. Playing time for all as the bench scored 35.

Lost to Louisville 70-57. Reshanda Gray had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Cal shot 32%. 8300 fans at Cal.

Lost to Miami of Florida at New Orleans 74-67. 6 assists and 21 turnovers for the Bruins. Nirra Fields had 15 points but was 6 of 19 from the floor. Monique Billings had 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Beat Samford at a Tournament in New Orleans 71-52 before a crowd of…118. Fields was 10 of 12 for 21 points. UCLA had 18 steals.
Lost at UConn 86-50. Kari Korver had 14 points.

Beat Loyola Marymount 96-54. Both McKenzie Calvert and Brianna Barnett had 18 points as the Trojans shot 55%. Sadly just 313 fans at USC.

Lost to # 19 Oklahoma State 66-62. Alexyz Vaioletama scored 20 points.

Beat Santa Clara in double overtime 92-88. Jillian Alleyne had 16 points and 20 rebounds. Lexi Bando had 28 points, 6 of 8 from three. Lexi Peterson added 24 points.

Lost to Fresno State 68-59. Jillian Alleyne had 26 points and 16 rebounds.
