Pac 12 Preview: Oregon State

Last Season: 26-8, 14-4. The Beavers beat Boise State and Gonzaga on their way to the Elite 8 before losing to Louisville for the 2nd year in a row.

The Coaches:
Scott Rueck is in his 10th year and has been an outstanding coach, turning the then lowly Beavers into a Final 4/Elite 8 team.
James Chatterton is in his 6th year.
Katie Faulkner, nee Baker is in her 4th year, and she works with the post players, and what a job she has done. Faulkner is a 2013 Graduate of the University of Montana
Brian Holsinger is in his 4th season after 8 seasons at Washington State. Brian coaches guards.

Losses:
Katie McWilliams who averaged 7 points and 3 rebounds.
Joanna Grymek who averaged 7 points and 5 rebounds.

Additions:
Andrea Aquino, 6-8 Redshirt Frosh Post from SoCal by way of SoCal and Paraguay ranked # 33out of HS. Aquino missed her Frosh season with injuries. However Aquino is not yet cleared to play.

Kennedy Brown, 6-6 Frosh Forward was a McD All American and ranked # 19

Taylor Jones, 6-4 Frosh Post ranked # 15.

Noelle Mannen, 5-6 Frosh Guard who was all league in three sports multiple years.

Jelena Mitrovic, 6-9 Frosh Post from Serbia ranked # 3 international recruit.

The Schedule:
The Beavers play at Miami(FL) and in a tournament vs BYU. They also play in the WNIT against I’m sure very good teams, but unknown who yet. They only play at the Washington schools and only at the LA schools.

The Team:
Mikayla Pivec is a 5-10 Sr Guard who averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds per game.

Destiny Slocum is a 5-7 Redshirt Jr Guard who lead the team at 15 points per game and 4.5 assists. Slocum made 67 threes at 37%.

Kat Tudor is a 6-0 Sr Guard and might the best three point shooter in the Pac 12. Tudor averaged 12 points making 40 threes at 46%. Sadly Tudor suffered an ACL at the start of league play and played in just 13 games. Hopefully Tudor is back soon but still recovering.

Aleah Goodman is a 5-9 Jr Guard who averaged 11 points and made 74 threes at 39%.

Tara Corosdale is a 6-3 Jr Forward who averaged 7 points and 8 rebounds.

Patricia Morris, 6-7 Soph Post who averaged 5 minutes per game.

Jasmine Simmons, 5-9 Soph Guard from Australia, who averaged 2 points in 8 minutes per game.

Janessa Thropay is a 6-2 Sr Forward who averaged 2 points in 9 minutes.

Predictions:
If Aquino and Tudor can play by league time the Beavers will be in the fight for the league title. Even if not, this is a top 10 team.
